Newest Addition to the Haynie Family!
Just wanted to send a little email and say hi to everyone.
For those who don't know, our fourth child and second girl was born of Feb 24th. We named her Bethany LaVerne Haynie. She is by far our best sleeper. Last night I only had to wake up once. None of our other kids have come close to that!
Jared finishes his last final tomorrow, to finish off his first year at law school here in Michigan. We are still caring for the elderly lady. She came back from the dead (literally) a couple of days ago. She shows all the signs that the hospice people says usually means 1-2 weeks to live, and shes been doing that for a while now! Its amazing. I tell Jared that sometimes I think she's going to live forever! Anyway, things have been pretty intense around here because of that. I think the hardest part at this point is dealing with the family. But all things do eventually come to an end. Sometime we think we were crazy to do it, and yet after developing relationships with the family and her, and realizing how much we've learned, we wouldn't change it.
The kids are all happy and wild. The boys are usually bouncing off the walls. Faith is pretty crazy too, but I think the fact that she is a girl makes her slightly less so. I'm glad that Faith has a sister though, so she has someone to be on her side.
I hope this email finds you all doing well! I attached a few pictures of Bethany and the kids

Emily's Kiddies
I found this picture in one of my files, and figured I should post it! Still waiting on Em to give me a written update on her fam. I think she even has another kid to add to this picture. If you email her regularly, light a fire under that girl. Though if she has just had another baby recently, I can understand that one! Cute kids! I think they're at Temple Square in this Picutre! xoxo Cory
I'm a total Slacker too!
Okay, since I'm about halfway through this pregnancy, I don't really have anymore excuses to put this off. Here's the crazy update! We're having another Boy this August...yeah for the boys. Wierd to think that Pud and I will be outnumbered, but I think we're more girl than these boys can handle! We're moving to Utah this summer or early fall. The company is moving it's corporate offices up to the land of many steeples. Long, interesting, complicated story. Maybe we'll chat about that one later. So, we're selling our house in Anaheim, and looking for one in Happy Valley.
Looking forward to being near family and such. We've missed so many things about Utah, and yet we are a little sad to leave California. It's amazing what you become accustomed to.
Isabelle starts her dance/tap/tumble/ballet class tommorrow. She loves Preschool, going to the "Park" (Disneyland), and loves singing Johnny Cash songs. Cal is my lil' man, loves trains, as you can see by his slipper of choice. He's still the most stubborn kid I've ever met! But we love him just the same!
Adam is busy with work, and all the changes that are happening there. The bishopric is still keeping him very busy and looks forward to the time when we're in Utah and we'll get to be called as the Tablecloth Coordinators. Here's Wishing!
XOXO
Cory
Jana's Family has things going on! What's wrong with the rest of y'all!?!
Here is an email sent to me via Celeste, from Jana. Jana's Husband Steve
n is the one who wrote it, so here goes:
I don’t normally send out regular updates, but there have been some exciting things happen in our family recently. Some of you are already aware of these changes, but I also attached a couple of pictures with this email that you may not have seen.
I recently resigned from IBM and start my new job at Raytheon Missile Systems here in Tucson on Monday as a Radar Signal Processing Engineer. I’m very excited (and a bit nervous) about my new job. The opportunities for advanced learning and challenging projects are more likely in this new job and the environment seems to be a little more family friendly, based on discussions I’ve had with people I will work with. They work the 9/80 schedule, meaning that will have every other Friday off, making it easier to do a little more camping and other short vacations than we have done recently. They took it pretty hard at IBM that I was leaving, but hopefully in the long run this will open a few ey es and make it better for my good co-workers that I left behind.
The other big announcement is that we have a new addition to our family. I know the last time I counted the truck as a “new addition” but this time I’m not joking. Her name is Daisy, yes another girl, so I’m even more outnumbered than I was before. She is a very cute 3 month old Yellow Labrador Retriever. Although very apprehensive at first because she was a very large puppy, the kids have warmed up to her well and she is now a part of the family. Weighing in at 30 pounds at 3 months, she is going to be a very big girl when she grows up. I’m excited to have her as a hiking companion, she will do very well with that type of activity. My dad and I took her down to the Chiricahua Mountains last weekend and she loved it, especially playing in the snow for the first time.
My last day at IBM was on Wednesday of last week, so we went camping for a couple nights at Rockhound State Park in New Mexico. We often seem to pick the weekends of not so optimal weather, but despite some rain and strong winds, we had a great time. It was good to have a little break before I start at the new job. The attached picture of the girls was fr om our trip.
Love,
Steven and Jana

Jana "Perry" Pierce

The Pierces are all doing well. We live in Tucson, AZ and really enjoy it 5 months of the year. The other 7 are too hot! Right now Steve works for IBM, but we are looking elsewhere to relocate. As you can see we have 3 princesses. Maura is 6 and in 1st grade. Right now she is taking gymnastics and loves it. Gentry is 4 and cannot wait to start Kindergarten in July. She is more than ready and has had great schooling from her older sister. Right now, I enjoy having her at home and it makes me sad she wants to leave me to go to school. :-) Our 3rd princess, Savannah, is 3 years old and gives me a run for my money. She is very active! She lost her first tooth last year before Thanksgiving, (as shown in the pictures) and will probably lose the other top one in a couple months from an accident that happened on New Years Day. We are waiting to see if it will make it. With all the princess, pink, and hormones, Steve felt we needed some more males in our home. So, in October our baby boy (the truck) was "born." Steve has enjoyed seeing some parts of Arizona that were previously not possible. As for me, I love my family and scrapbooking all the memories. Almost every Friday night, I will be found cropping the night away. I am serving as the Enrichment Counselor in RS and Steve was just released from the Elders Quorum Presidency. He is enjoying just having on calling right now. (to help with Enrichment Activities) I would love to hear from everyone so keep in touch. Thanks Cory for organizing this!

Julie "Petersen" Haynie
These are Juliebird's darling kids! Since she didn't write down any info to go with I'm going to have to improv. Lincoln is 3 years old, and by the looks of it is practicing up for his next Dental Appointment. Tyler is the the cutie in yellow...he should be about what...2 years old. Faith is in the middle she's 14 months now, so this is an old pic..but it's new to you... So enjoy!
They're up in Michigan right now, while Julie's husband Jared goes to Law School. Kidlet #4 is on it's way, so they'll be a full house soon!

While Mom's Away
Long time, no blog. I've been in Utah with the kids...being sick and visiting the family. I'll have to show pics of that later. Got some really ones! Here's what Adam does with the kids while I'm out running errands. Crazy kids...all three of them. They're practicing up for Halloween. Pud insists that she's going to be a ghost for Halloween. Where she gets this stuff is beyond me. I thought she was going to be Belle, but hey a ghost works for me too. Cal is going to be a chicken. Will post photos of that one! Holidays are coming up so fast on us now, we'll see if I can keep this going! I'm sure there will be many stories to tell!
Stephanie "Perry" Curtis and Family
just wanted to let you guys know that the balance of power in the Curtis Family will be shifting to the boys. We are expecting our 3rd baby on March 25th. I told Max after the ultrasound that he was going to have a little brother just like him. I guess that confused him because he thinks he has a baby in his tummy now. The baby appeared healthy from the ultrasound, so that is a relief. We are all doing well. We FINALLY were able to potty train Max 3 weeks ago. He definitely gets his stubbornness from his dad! He is attending preschool twice a week and loves it! Renee is happy 99% of the time and has a head full of curry hair. McKay finished his course work last semester and started working with a professor this fall. His dissertation work will be in the area of Nonparametric Bayesian Statistics dealing with copulas…don't ask me what that means!I am still working part-time for a physical therapists office doing the typing of their patient's evaluations and part-time the Center for the Study of Elections and Democracy at BYU. Both are jobs I can do from home. I'm definitely looking forward to McKay finishing school, so I won't have to work anymore. I'm not sure how I am going to balance things with 3 kids…sometimes I feel like I can hardly survive now.
That is all from our end.
Take care!
Stephanie

The First Victim: The Tippetts Family
This is Josh & Carrie Tippetts. You may know Carrie better as Carrie Cole, youngest duaghter of Conrad & Claudia Cole, or just Care by most of her close friends. She lives in Orange, CA with her husband Josh and two little girls, Elizabeth & Abigail. Elizabeth is 2 and Abigail is 5 months now. They love going to Disneyland, Costco, and hanging out with their family! Carrie is really good and making home movies of the family, editing them with music and everything. Josh loves working on his really old yellow truck, named Porky. Elizabeth loves singing
, dress up, and being a princess. Abi is sort of just at the stage where she likes to eat.
Carrie and Josh have been married for almost four years this Jan. coming up. They met up at Rick's College. Josh was actually roomates/friends with Scott Hymas and Adam Jensen. Carrie only knew Josh by his nickname, Hobie. If you want the details on that one...email me! :)
They wrote while he served his mission the Phillipines and were just friends. Then out of the blue, they were engaged. At least that's what it felt like. Hopefully if I'm getting this information all wrong, Carrie will actually write her own bio next time!
